Biochemistry
The Department of Veterinary Biochemistry at Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur came into existence as a full-fledged separate department in the year 2003. Previously, the subject was combined with Veterinary Physiology as “Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry”. At present, specialized staff is available in the Department of Vety. Biochemistry, which is pursuing under-graduate programme as well as offering the PG courses as minor subject to the students of other departments of the college. It also offers the PG course of the Biotechnology subject as major course.
Apart from the above academic activities, the department provides support to the TVCC for diagnostic biochemistry and other departments for trainings offered to LDOs and LSS. The department also participates in the Animal Health Camps for aiding in the diagnosis in-field conditions using qualitative biochemical tests.
The department also maintains the Central Instrumentation Facility and the Central Chemical Store of the college and one of the staff is also entrusted with the duty of Associate NCC Officer.
